Tustin, California, January 25, 2018 – Luxion, a leading developer of advanced rendering and lighting technology and maker of KeyShot®, the first real-time ray-tracing and global illumination program for 3D rendering and animation, today announced the release of KeyShot 7.2, with new features focused on user experience, output capability, and improvements to KeyShot Network Rendering and scene setup, with workflow and user interface enhancements throughout.
KeyShot 7 released with more ways to create, more material possibilities, and more lighting control while increasing both flexibility and real-time speed. Highlights included Workspaces, Custom Hotkeys, new Material Types, many material enhancements, a complete refresh of Texture Mapping and new environment switching and editing capabilities. KeyShot Pro gained additional Multi-Material support, Video Maps, Real-time VR Rendering, Studios and the all-new KeyShot Configurator. KeyShot 7.2 builds on top of the added flexibility and real-time speed to bring high-DPI display support, the ability to Render Configurations, Label Passes, all new Deadline integration, along with speed and scalability improvements to KeyShot Network Rendering.

New User Interface Features
With KeyShot 7.2, users now have high DPI support which includes respect for physical display size providing higher quality real-time rendering as well as improved appearance of icons and text. Included with this is the ability to set the font size for the KeyShot user interface. Users also have improved Scene Tree reordering as well as the ability to reorder Model Sets in the Scene Tree sidebar and re-ordering of Model Sets and Multi-Materials in the KeyShot Configurator. Drag-and-drop capability has been added to the Material Preview Sphere with other improvements made to Project window tab layouts. In addition, the Render Queue now has columns for Resolution and Frame Count, and displays Render Type and Sample in the preview tooltip.
New Output Capabilities
In KeyShot 7.2 users can now easily render all Model, Material and Studio variations set up in the KeyShot Configurator. Metadata (in XMP format) can now be enabled on render output or set to be saved along with the screenshot option in Preferences. Labels now have their own render pass and labels can be set to show as a separate color in a Clown Pass. Render passes have also been updated to improve color distribution in Clown Pass, white background in Shadow Pass and improved Reflection Pass for several Material Types. In addition, Thinkbox Deadline integration is now fully supported with KeyShot 7.2.
Rendering and Performance Improvements
KeyShot 7.2 brings users significantly faster startup when loading complex scenes and increased Performance Mode Ray Bounces to improve appearance of transparent materials. Users will also experience higher quality Rounded Edges and improvements to Ground Shadows with Motion Blur. In addition, users gain the ability to call Python scripts in Presentation Mode when saving screenshots or when making Model or Material Variation selections.
KeyShot Network Rendering Updates
KeyShot Network Rendering has been updated with many performance, speed, stability and scalability improvements throughout. Parallel job processing now allows KeyShot Network Rendering to use larger numbers of slaves more efficiently than before. Full-Frame Animation rendering provides faster transfer of frames to the Master and information about time spent per number of cores for individual jobs is displayed in the Log. Currently processing jobs can now be reordered in the Network Queue.
