The KeyShot crew fills you in with the latest KeyShot tips and tricks, insight into 3D rendering technology and the people creating the coolest visuals across the engineering, product design and entertainment industries.

Irvine, California, July 9th, 2013 – Luxion, a leading developer of advanced rendering, animation and lighting technology and maker of Keyshot® the first real-time ray tracing and global illumination program, in partnership with Mold-Tech, a Standex Engraving Group company and leader in texturizing and engraving in the automotive, plastics and consumer product industries, is pleased to announce an exclusive partnership that brings Mold-Tech textures to KeyShot.

First available within KeyShot 4, Mold-Tech textures deliver realism and accuracy for a variety of textured appearances. As with all the materials, colors and other textures inside KeyShot, Mold-Tech textures are applied as part of a new Mold-Tech material via the KeyShot Library with a simple drag-and-drop of the texture onto the object. All updates are seen in real time with options available in the Mold-Tech material properties to change color, roughness, scale and depth of the grain. Additionally, in an industry first, all patterns scale accurately with the size of the model.

“Luxion is proud to have KeyShot as the only source for accurate representation of Mold-Tech textures inside a rendering application,” says Henrik Wann Jensen, Chief Scientist at Luxion, “With hundreds of textures and all the options to refine the appearance, KeyShot brings a level of realism to product visuals that can’t be matched.”
